WELCOME TO GIRONA SUMMER SCHOOL 2011, OPEN YOUR MIND!
The GIS OPEN SOURCE Summer School 2011 aims to build Open Source Opportunities in Geographic Information and will be held in Girona (Spain) from 28th June to 7th July 2011.

The course is organized by the GIS and Remote Sensing Centre (SIGTE) of the University of Girona (Spain) with the collaboration of the Sextante Project and the Center for Geospatial Sciences (CGS) of the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom).

This Summer School will be focused on exploring and building the potential of open data sources (such as Spatial Data Infrastructures) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)for Geomatics.

Participants will learn several methods, techniques and resources that will enable them to work independently in making decisions on issues about the impact on the environment and community.

Those interested in learning more about  the possibilities of Free and Open Source GIS and building future research collaboration, are invited to be part of the Summer School  next summer in the lovely city of Girona in Spain.
